ymca kids event april 12

After months of planning, the YMCA of Niagara is bringing back its popular YMCA Move for Kids event on April 12, 2025. The annual fitness fundraiser will take place at multiple YMCA locations across the Niagara Region, offering more than 300 hours of activities for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

The event features a variety of exercise options including spinning, swimming, aquafit, and drumfit. Participants can join individually or form teams for activities like bowling or cycling. The day is designed to promote fitness while raising money for important youth programs in the community.

Unleash your energy through spin classes, swimming, or team bowling while supporting life-changing youth programs in our community.

This year’s fundraising goal is set at $30,000, with $21,384 already raised as of the event day. Major donors include both individuals and organizations such as KPMG, who have shown strong support for the cause.

“The funds we raise directly support YMCA programs for children and families in need,” explains a YMCA representative. These programs include swim lessons, summer camps, and youth initiatives that benefit the community’s youngest members.

One in five children needs financial assistance to participate in YMCA activities. The money raised during Move for Kids helps reduce these barriers, ensuring more children can access programs that enhance their physical and mental health.

The event strengthens YMCA fitness centers as community hubs while increasing awareness about the importance of well-being. It brings together families, office teams, and individuals to support a shared commitment to nurturing young lives in Niagara.

Those interested in participating can sign up through the YMCA Niagara website. Participants can also register in-person at the Port Coburn, Grimsby, or Welland fitness centers for added convenience. Donations are accepted online, and every contribution helps reach the fundraising goal. Local businesses are also encouraged to participate or sponsor activities.

Move for Kids has become known for its inclusive atmosphere that welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Its unique approach uses fitness as a medium to promote charitable goals while creating a fun, collaborative environment for everyone involved.

The event represents the YMCA’s ongoing mission to support children and foster social responsibility throughout the Niagara Region.

Fitness and philanthropy come together in ways that strengthen both individual well-being and community bonds. Programs like this one show how inclusive initiatives can make a real difference. Follow more local events and youth-focused efforts at Marketplace Niagara.
