merrittville speedway 2025 upgrades

Excitement is building for Merrittville Speedway’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt set for Friday, April 18, 2025. The popular family event will run from 12 PM to 5 PM, offering an extended five-hour schedule compared to previous years. Admission is free for all attendees, thanks to the sponsorship of Dubé Realtors.

The event features traditional Easter egg hunts where children can find colorful eggs filled with candy and small prizes. Families can enjoy carnival games, inflatable bouncy castles, and face painting. Children will also have the chance to explore interactive displays of race cars and fire trucks.

Steve Dubé, local real estate agent and event co-chairman, has worked with organizers to expand activities for 2025. “We’ve added live trivia competitions and enhanced our candy giveaways,” said Dubé. His son Justin will serve as master of ceremony for the festivities. Both Dubés bring their extensive community experience, having organized the Welland Annual Easter Egg Hunt for over 25 years.

The Easter Bunny will make scheduled appearances throughout the day, giving children opportunities for photos and interaction. New entertainment options include balloon animal creation stations and expanded game sections designed to reduce waiting times.

All proceeds from the event support Merrittville Gives Back, a non-profit initiative that assists local charities and schools. Visitors can learn about these supported causes and make additional donations during the event.

For 2025, organizers have implemented improved parking and crowd management measures. The expanded schedule aims to spread attendance throughout the day, creating a more comfortable experience for families.

Local businesses have contributed prizes, giveaways, and equipment, ensuring that everyone goes home a winner. The collaborative effort includes partnerships with schools and non-profits, reinforcing the event’s community focus.

The Merrittville Speedway venue in Fonthill provides ample space for the various activities planned. Organizers promise an inclusive experience where children of all ages can participate and enjoy the festivities.

Families are encouraged to mark their calendars for this community celebration that combines Easter fun with charitable giving.
